“When are you moving back home?”
LEVELD questions what makes a home a home and if one should move back home or not.
“My hometown is Leveld. 300 people live here. I grew up on a farm that was built by my great-great-grandfather and that has been passed on to the oldest son of the family for five generations. This inherits rule is in Norwegian called “Odel”.
It was seen as a duty to keep the farm alive for the next generation. For most people, it was a natural choice. Today girls can have the odel too. In my family that is me. And I’m the first to have a choice.
This is a project is about home, about one’s roots, and one’s identity. Everyday life, attachment, and detachment. About those who stayed, those who left, and those who moved back. And about a choice, I have to make all by myself.”
