What is Atla?
Atla is a curatorial collective revolving around lens-based art in the Nordics. We work individually as well as collectively on exhibitions, events, artist talks, workshops and mentorships. Our work with – and for – emerging artists run through our initiatives as the red thread.
In the year of 2022 the platform facilitates:
‘In progress’; a cross-Nordic mentorship program and group show for emerging lens-based artists, organized and curated by Linnea Frandsen and Cecilie Stephansen. In collaboration with MELK galleri, Landskrona Foto and Hallgerður Hallgrímsdóttir. Supported by Nordic Culture Point, Nordisk Kulturfond, Direktor Michael Herman Nielsens Mindelegat and DJ Fotograferne.
‘Experience’; a talk and event program touring in Denmark. Categorised into three themes, ‘War’, ‘Climate’ and ‘Love for the Suburbia’, the program showcases artists working with the victims of the brutal escape of the Ukrainian war, climate change issues and the life of the young generation growing up outside the big cities. ‘Experience’ is organised by Sara Gangsted-Rasmussen and Amanda Skovmose Kjær in collaboration with Klimafolkemødet, Copenhagen Photo Festival, Baghaven and Kalejdoskop. Supported by Politiken Fonden and DJ Fotograferne.
